Frank L. Baum's immortal classic, The Wizard of Oz was best brought to the big screen in 1939. This extraordinary film starred the young Judy Garland in her most famous role of Dorothy. Whisked away to the enchanting Oz by a tornado with her little dog ToTo, Dorothy went through an adventure of a lifetime involving good and evil witches, the Munchkins, the Wizard of Oz himself and many other interesting and unusual characters....
And you know the rest!
Here are a few screen shots from this 1939 Classic:
About my Collection:
While my main hobby is collecting retro handheld and tabletop games, I do enjoy collecting some "retro" Wizard of Oz" items too. My collection consists of mainly autographed items by all or some of the key cast members and non-key members too (Charles Grapewin/Uncle Henry and Clara Blandick (who committed suicide eventually)/Aunt Em), original US and foreign lobby cards which were displayed in theatres where the movie was playing, a pocketwatch owned by Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow) and a few other neat items. It's as if I just watched the movie again yesterday.........Enjoy

How this Book came to Be:
Shortly after the making of
the Wizard of Oz, a birthday party was held for the director,
Victor Fleming. Studio executives and the cast of Oz were invited
to the party. An executive had brought along the Glinda of Oz
book in hopes of having the cast members sign it for his wife. Well,
they did, and that's when the signing of the book took place.
My Opinion of Book/Signatures conditions:
Signatures:
Some fading but all still sharp and clearly visible.
Book:
Book is Complete with pages in overall good condition. There is some light water staining on the bottom of some pages and binding. Back and Side bindings are loose, but attached.
Signature Authenticity:
This book comes with TWO COA's (Certificate's of Authenticity):
1. Original COA from UACC dealer whom I originally purchased the book. 2. A forensic COA which I had obtained after purchasing the book.
Based on the conclusive findings of both COA's, One from a reputable UACC dealer and one from a forensic examiner, both concur that the 7 signatures are authentic.
